HTML Editors
Click on one of the links below to download the HTML Editor of your choice.
Feel free to try out more than one until you find one that you like!
- HotDog
- I finally found a Windows HTML editor I really like! This one is user-friendly,
and is certainly not limited at all! You can add any tag in with the simple click
of a button, and the capability to preview your document is excellent! For more
information on HotDog, check out their web site at http://www.sausage.com/.
- HTML Writer
- In my opinion, this is the best of the Windows HTML Editors I was able to
find. It includes more than just the most simple basics,
it is fairly easy to use, and it has a good help menu. It also has the capability
of previewing your document.
- HTML Edit
- This seemed to be the second best HTML Editor. It has a really good tutorial
and is also fairly easy to understand. The drawback is that there is no way
to preview your documents.
- HTMLed
- This editor seems to have all the HTML tags and fairly easy to use, but there
isn't any help menu. Also, there seems to be a facility to let you preview your
work but I couldn't get it to work.
- HoTMeTal
- This HTML editor is fairly well known, but I didn't like it because only
the very basic tags are available (for example, there are no list elements). Also,
the help menu isn't very helpful at all. You have the option of hiding the tags
though, which is kind of nice.
- Live Markup
- This particular editor was not very intuitive at all, and seemed quite
confusing. There is a help menu (good thing!), but I don't recommend this
HTML editor at all. Try it out if you want, maybe it's just me.
- Web Wizard
- Admittedly, this one is REALLY easy to use, however, it is also
EXTREMELY limited. You have hardly any control over the format of your web
page...maybe Web Wizard is okay for the very beginner who only ever plans on
making one page?
